Super Phillips dropped by FRA (October 2004) to say good bye
to folks as he is off to Parris Island, SC for basic training in the
Marines. Super and his cousin Lance Lanier joined under the “buddy
system.” Both Super and sister Hope have been working with their father
Buck at D & J Enterprises of Auburn and going wherever they are called
upon to cleanup after disasters. They have spent much of the year in
Wilmington, NC after Hurricane Charley. Buck has been in the Punta Gorda
and Port Charlotte areas of Florida cleaning up, and the youngest
sibling, Faith, has enjoyed her senior year of high school there with
him. Best of luck to Super.

I hope all is well in Woodbury Ga. I’m currently with the Marine
Corps finishing up a tour in Iraq. I’m located at Al Asad Air Base here.
The weather here is constantly hot and dry. We are being told that our
arrival back to the states is around the 1st of Sept. I was on the
internet and thought about saying hey. Take care and feel free to write
back anytime. Hope to see you at some of Flint River’s home football
games.

I’m doing ok here I guess. I am here in Al Asad with my unit VMFA-142
(Marine Fighter Attack Squadron) which is out of Atlanta. I work with
FA-18 aka Hornets. There is a lot of excitement with my fellow Marines
here because we are getting ready to come home. Over here is a
completely different world. The military presence, the heat, wildlife
all is a new & unforgettable experience. We are so lucky to be living in
the USA.
