Flint River Academy Students
Perform in GISA All-Select Honor Chorus

Flint River Academy was honored to have six students selected for the 2009 Georgia Independent School Association All-Select Honor Chorus.

Students are nominated by their school’s Choral Director, and then the final selection is made by the Georgia Independent School Association. Thirty-five schools participated in this year’s concert, which was hosted by the Darlington School in Rome, Georgia.

Six FRA students were selected for the chorus: Senior Soprano Lauren Redmond of Williamson, Senior Alto Emily Self of Warm Springs, Sophomore Alto Gayla Faye Bell of Woodbury, Sophomore Tenor Alex Perez of Manchester, Freshman Tenor Tripp Taylor of Manchester, and Sophomore Bass Hunter Adkins of Greenville.

The Chorus was chaired and coordinated by Ms. Alice Kay McFarland, Choral Director at the Brookstone School in Columbus.

The GISA All-Select Honor Chorus was conducted by Dr. Rodney Eichenberger, a Florida State University Professor Emeritus. He has conducted 80 U.S. All-State Choirs and guest conducted or lectured at more than 85 U.S. and International Universities.

Flint River Academy encourages students to seek excellence with honor through challenging educational, extra-curricular, and service experiences.
