Headmaster's Letter

On behalf of the Flint River Academy students, families, faculty, and Board of Trustees, I want to welcome you to, and thank you for visiting, our website. All of us are excited about the growth our school has experienced over the last three years and the expansion of our curriculum to bring new and usable information to our students. We have added two new Vocational graduation tracks to our existing College Prep and College Prep Honors tracks and a number of new classes to help prepare them for everyday life.  This year’s entering tenth graders will be the first class to be challenged with new requirements to receive a College Prep Honors diploma that will have them more than ready to attend any university in the United States.

While high level academics is the reason FRA was established in 1967, we also offer competitive athletic programs from 2nd grade through 12th. At FRA, students who maintain their grades, are allowed to participate in more than one sport each season. If you are not into sports, we have numerous clubs, service organizations, art, music, drama, and literary teams to give you a co-curricular experience.

To be a small family friendly school, FRA truly has something for everyone.

As we enter the second full school year of dealing with the COVID virus, FRA remains committed to providing your child and our staff with the cleanest and safest school environment possible. We want everyone to feel safe and be safe while on our campus.  We do not mandate masks; that is a family choice that we will honor.

We thank you again for visiting us through our website. Let me encourage you to give me a call to learn more about what FRA can do for your child’s education. I know firsthand; my daughters started here in 4K and graduated from here.

I hope you can visit with us soon.

John Welch, Ed. S.

Proud FRA Head of School
