Flint River's preschool and kindergarten program focuses on building strong academics through challenging and engaging curriculum. At this stage of learning students require rigorous instruction that presents opportunities to discover and make connections. Our lower school teachers are eager to see each student succeed by implementing a variety of tools to teach Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. In support  of FRA’s vision, our technology initiative seeks to create a challenging, yet supportive atmosphere in which to learn and succeed. The use of technology does not diminish the vital role of the teacher or the school as an independent institution.

Journeys  is a comprehensive K-5 English Language Arts program that exposes students to both literature and informational texts, while building on foundational skills for reading, writing, and comprehension. In mathematics, Go Math provides a seamless path to ensure that students can embrace new math skills while building on known skills. Teachers have a variety of resources available to both support and encourage appropriate levels of depth and rigor for real world problem solving. Science concepts are key to understanding the world around us. Teachers use a variety of resources and hands-on, discovery models to establish a firm foundation from which a student can build and succeed. Social Studies is a multidisciplinary approach to the study of people, their physical environment, histories, traditions and cultures. Flint River Academy encourages high expectations for success and academic excellence through the development of the mind, body and spirit.
